About Me

I grew up in a small town located just north of Boston.  Growing up, I always managed to stay active by taking dance lessons, playing on my  high school field hockey team and just going to the gym regularly after school.  I graduated high school in the spring of 1998 and I attended Quinnipiac University located in Hamden, CT that fall.  During my four years at Quinnipiac University, I joined the sorority Phi Sigma Sigma and became President of the Panhellenic Council.  I became more independent, strong willed and goal oriented.  I graduated in May 2002 with a Bachelors Degree in Legal Studies and a minor in Sociology.  Directly after college, I began working for a large real estate law firm located just outside of Boston and then moved on to work for a small community bank for five years. I am now finally pursuing my dreams of working in the health and fitness industry and passing on my passion for fitness to others.

I have always tried to stay fit and healthy by working out and watching what I eat. After reading an article in a magazine about competing in figure and fitness competitions, I got an itch to learn more about the sport. I wanted to know how these beautiful women kept in phenomenal shape and what it took for them to prepare for their competitions – could I look like them and did I have what it takes to compete? I got in contact with Cathy Savage, a well renowned figure and fitness competitor coach. With her team’s help and guidance, my desire was ignited and I plunged into my first year of competing in 2006 and placed in the top ten in all three of my competitions.

2007 was an exciting year and I surprisingly found myself traveling outside of New England for all three of my shows – all national level shows too! In March, I competed in the first ever Arnold Amateur Figure Championships in Columbus, Ohio.  It was a great experience and a great weekend - I had the chance to meet so many of my fitness role models and idols.  In June, I competed in my first Fitness America competition - the Fitness Universe Pageant in Miami, FL.  I ended up placing 13th out of 30 girls. The overall show was fantastic and the weekend was so enjoyable.  In November, I competed in the Fitness America World Championships in Hollywood, CA. It was a great way to end the year!

I am now gearing up for a fantastic 2008 competition season. This season brings new challenges as I will be competing for the first time in a fitness routine! This year I plan to stay in New England and compete locally in order to focus more on my training and to work on properly executing a fitness routine. Keep coming back to check up on me and for more updates!

Leading a healthy lifestyle and competing have become a passion of mine.  I thoroughly enjoy every moment of my training and preparation - from the intense cardio and strength training sessions to endless cooking sessions to the wonderful women whom I have had the pleasure of meeting and becoming friends with along the way.  I only hope to motivate and inspire others to reach their own health and fitness goals.
